# FAQ

##                             ***NEW USER QUESTIONS***

## What comes with a MechaTrade membership?

After purchasing membership you will receive access to our two TradingView scripts, MechaAlgo & MechaOscillator. Along with your script access, you will also receive full access to our Discord group containing analysts, options flow tools, news bots, and much more!

## How do I gain access?

Visit our website [https://mechatrade.net](https://origamialgo.com/) and purchase any of our plans, after doing so, you will be able to bind your key and TradingView username on our dashboard.

## **How long does it take to get access after I buy membership?**

After you bind your key and save your TradingView username, you will receive access on TradingView within 5 minutes. Discord access is received within a minute after binding your key as long as you are in the Discord server.

## Will MechaTrade guarantee me profit?

Typically most MechaTrade members have found incredible success immediately after signing up for our product, but this may not be the case for everybody. While we truly believe that our algorithms and Discord server are the greatest on the market, we cannot guarantee that you will profit with any of our tools or resources. Everything we are was built from the ground up with traders in mind, and we have worked hard as a company to deliver excellence to the highest degree, but we cannot make any promises further than that.

##                             ***PRODUCT QUESTIONS***

## Is this product user friendly?

Between our informational Discord group and advanced trading tools, we believe that our product is extremely useful to any trader, regardless of their skill level. We also offer 24/7 support within our Discord, as well as tutorials on how to use our products and trade with them.

## What timeframes / markets does it work on?

MechaTrade indicators work on all markets including stocks, crypto, futures, indices, forex, currencies, and commodities along with all time frames as long as TradingView has it available.

As for trading style, our indicators were built with all traders in mind. This means our tools and resources can be applied to a wide variety of trading forms and styles, including but not limited to day trading, swing trading, scalping, options trading, long term investing, and more!

## Can this product trade automatically?

Our indicators were not intended to be used as auto traders, but it is possible to set them up to do so. Although this is possible, we do not recommend it, as nobody should ever execute trades without being present.

## Do I need to pay for TradingView to use the product?

The free TradingView plan is all you need to use our product, but you may want to upgrade in order to improve your overall TradingView experience outside of what we offer as a company.

## How accurate are the signals?

Due to legal reasons, we cannot provide backtests for our algorithm. Past results are not indicative of future performance, and we do not want to pretend that our algorithm will always be perfect 100% of the time. With that being said, we still truly believe that there is a lot to gain out of using our tools and resources, and we hope you will give us a try!

# Purchasing a Membership

Gaining Access to our Discord Group and Indicators

Purchasing a MechaTrade membership is a very simple process, and access is granted automatically once you have paid. Purchasing any plan gives you access to our TradingView indicators as well as our premium Discord group.\
\
To begin, head over to our website [https://mechatrade.net](https://origamialgo.com/)

From here, scroll down until you see our payment plans.

![MechaTrade Payment Plans](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McPq3kqg7M9ZbPvG3gq%2F-McPyPCNkc2SkYkdAkUO%2FScreen%20Shot%202021-06-17%20at%201.16.21%20PM.png?alt=media\&token=d50cf001-0d5d-4d11-9273-d7ff1040bf84)

After choosing which plan you'd like to purchase and logging in with Discord, you will be brought to the payment page which looks like the image below. Make sure to use code **20OFF** for 20% off your first purchase!

# Setting Up The Indicators

Adding the Indicator on TradingView

Once you have been granted access on TradingView, the first thing you will notice is the bell icon on the bottom right of the screen will display 2 notifications. You will also likely receive an email from TradingView that MechaTrade has shared two scripts with you.

![TradingView Notifications Bell](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McQG8Bnkc7VzBFsVmMx%2F-McQGa3daB60MxOPVfac%2FScreen%20Shot%202021-06-17%20at%202.36.33%20PM.png?alt=media\&token=68bc2ce5-2119-4845-9115-971fb8e9c625)

# Discord Walkthrough

Welcome to the MechaTrade Family!

As you may already be able to tell, MechaTrade is much more than just a set of TradingView indicators. We genuinely care about all of our users, and we want to provide as much support as possible through our feature packed Discord server. Within our server, we provide the highest quality analyst signals, live options flow, 24/7 news alerts, support for all members, and much more to come!

If you have not bound your key already or purchased any membership plans when you first join our server, you will be stuck within the lobby. This is NOT what the inside of our server looks like, and it merely exists as a waiting room for members to see what our product is like before joining.

![Origami Algo Discord Server Lobby](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5i5ngOQxkOnoTSEct%2F-Md5nOyJ0Sw4UsA4BLlX%2FDiscord%20Lobby.png?alt=media\&token=074a573a-46d8-4543-9536-d7cdf8457ae1)

Below you will find an in depth walk through of what the inside of our server is like!

![Inside the Origami Algo Discord](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5uQ9Y9bCobLAYUcFK%2F-Md5uiIjcpZgrJMs35hY%2FMain%20Server.png?alt=media\&token=50ae2a0b-6837-43c6-8007-4101767b53fd)

The first thing you will likely notice is the new Member Lounge section, this is the general chatting area for paid members, and it is exclusive to paid members ONLY. This means that anyone in the lobby will not be able to see the channel.

![Member Lounge](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5i5ngOQxkOnoTSEct%2F-Md5q9dfKqJFS14HGLDX%2FMember%20Lounge.png?alt=media\&token=fea93638-32e0-41a0-b093-cbb4b6060942)

The next section is our Analyst Signals tab, here you will be able to get your signal roles, and view alerts from our multiple analysts. By selecting the roles you want, you will get pinged whenever they post a play, that way you never miss out!

![Analyst Signals](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5rBxZvwSpxiJfqKCF%2F-Md5toSJTHvfc4qNAlqT%2FAnalyst%20Signals.png?alt=media\&token=7c5c6d1e-7d8b-4b22-bbfd-14c316b1946e)

The remaining sections are Support Ticket & Requests and Feedback, these channels are not very important, but they are useful incase you are ever in need of support. The Requests and Feedback channel is used to provide input on our indicators or our server, and request any features you would like to see implemented as well.

# Signal Modes

Safe, Standard, and Scalper

The buy and sell signals provided by MechaAlgo consists of 3 modes which are known as Safe, Standard, and Scalper. We highly recommend experimenting with all 3 modes throughout different time frames and charts and see what works best for your trading style!

## SAFE MODE

Safe mode attempts to prioritize safe trades and hold you through trades the longest, all while using a minimal amount of alerts. This often times leads to larger gains during big moves and less signals during consolidation, but the downside is that the signals may not always be placed perfectly at tops and bottoms.

Below you will find an example of Safe mode being used on a chart.

![SPY 1 Minute chart using Safe mode and Price Momentum Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McHeo21cmq4Fxz5-rtV%2F-McHgUWS38lumj_Ex4bl%2FHzvxMU6U.png?alt=media\&token=e2af1c34-33b5-4c4f-817d-593a94984080)

## STANDARD MODE

Standard mode attempts to perfectly blend Safe mode and Scalper mode, giving you the best of both worlds. With Standard mode you will find more alerts than Safe mode, but much less than Scalper mode. You will also realize that it picks up tops and bottoms more accurately than Safe mode.

![BTCUSD 2 Hour chart using Standard mode and TTM Trend Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McHgl_TUEM9V9y1DPHS%2F-McHl6O_cZ4bGOtfMj5w%2FrOtWoVga.png?alt=media\&token=35988ddf-bea9-4cf3-97ee-e775bfe41274)

## SCALPER MODE

Scalper mode has the most alerts out of all of our modes, which comes with its pros and its cons. The benefit of Scalper mode is the fact that it picks up the most movements, both large and small. While this may come as a benefit to many, this style of trading may not work for everyone.

![LTCUSDT 45 Minute chart using Scalper mode and Z-Score Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McHloXYH9aTSiLofXuk%2F-McHx8SUmB5Tf1WMYfQw%2Fl91PMXhV.png?alt=media\&token=6875695b-edd9-4093-9bf6-af3442c55496)

## SIGNAL MODE SETTINGS

You can pick out your preferred signal mode at any time through the MechaAlgo settings menu. You can also turn the signals on or off in this menu.

# Candle Colors

6 modes to choose from, each with their own purpose

## TTM Trend

TTM Trend candles are a near perfect recreation of the famous TTM Trend candle coloring indicator from ThinkorSwim. We decided this would be an extremely useful candle type to implement, as it allows traders to follow the trend in a much easier manner.

When using these candles, all you need to remember is that blue indicates a bullish trend, while red indicates a bearish trend.

![NIO 2 Hour chart using TTM Trend Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McI-sG2tNffq9gXYh2J%2F-McI2jhIqZ8ToSFhUUIr%2FJizcHDZm.png?alt=media\&token=24f36e0c-f4ab-41f0-807e-218dc486b1b5)

## Price Momentum

Price Momentum candles are an excellent way of tracking bullish and bearish momentum through candle movements. They can also be used to identify potential reversals a few candles prior to the reversal occurring.

Light green candles indicate strong bullish momentum, while darker green candles indicate bullish momentum that is dying out.

Light red candles indicate strong bearish momentum, while dark red candles indicate bearish momentum that is dying out.

![ETHUSD 1 Minute chart using Price Momentum](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McI2s4m3KAdZ1vupMaL%2F-McI5PC4Cdlrmm9VADtJ%2FMlHCvZQ2.png?alt=media\&token=735017e4-255e-49ec-bed1-979752cb5a0e)

## RSI

RSI candles are fairly simple to understand, as they just identify overbought and oversold zones based off the standard RSI indicator.

White candles are bullish, while grey candles are bearish.

Red candles indicate areas where the RSI is above 70, therefore overbought.

Blue candles indicate areas where the RSI is below 30, therefore oversold.

![BTCUSD 5 Minute chart using RSI Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McI5Rp4H0mViI_Yz_RD%2F-McI7hli7TauX18Kfr6S%2FNkfWWHgo.png?alt=media\&token=f9cf63f5-9f84-4827-b3ad-0fb1fc1e6316)

## Fear and Greed

Fear and Greed candles are extremely useful, specifically on the daily time frame. They allow traders to see an estimate of where the current stock price is within a range from Extreme Greed to Extreme Fear. The colors that represent each rating are as follows:

Extreme Greed = Dark Green\
Medium Greed = Green\
Light Greed = Blue\
Neutral Greed = Aqua\
Neutral Balance = Grey\
Neutral Fear = Yellow\
Light Fear = Orange\
Medium Fear = Red\
Extreme Fear = Dark Red

![SPY 1 Day chart using Fear and Greed Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McI5Rp4H0mViI_Yz_RD%2F-McI7ml1CwIvpFsd1mHV%2Fx9tetct2.png?alt=media\&token=f56098d1-62f1-4f3a-8254-0d66ffbe8730)

## Z-Score

Z-Score candles calculate the mean over a certain range, and from there it displays how far away the current candles are in a bullish or bearish direction.

As the candles become a darker green, they are getting further from the mean in an uptrend, while a lighter green means they are getting closer to the mean.

White candles represent the mean itself over the range.

As the candles become a darker red, they are getting further from the mean in a downtrend, while a lighter red means they are getting closer to the mean.

## Signal Based

Signal Based candles are the easiest to comprehend out of all our candle coloring modes. Their main use is giving the trader peace of mind by only displaying green candles and red candles and ignoring the general shakiness of the market.

Green candles indicate that the last signal was a buy, while red candles indicate that the last signal was a sell.

![BBY 10 Minute chart using Signal Based Candles](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McIHpcDV5EOVZrbCFg6%2F-McIHuBfQU-4HQl2_YGZ%2FQs861l4s.png?alt=media\&token=cab6c224-33f5-429c-af79-9ac6bf995b41)

## CANDLE COLOR SETTINGS

You can customize your candle color settings in the Origami Algo settings menu.

# Reversal Cloud

Identify potential reversal zones and consolidation within the market

Our reversal cloud allows traders to easily identify zones where the market is likely to reverse. When candles come in contact with the upper or lower boundaries of the cloud, it is a good idea to take profits, or consider entering a position contrary to the current trend. The reversal cloud may also be used to identify areas of consolidation within the market depending on how far apart the upper and lower boundaries of the cloud are.

Below is a photo displaying how price bounces up and down between these boundaries. The red arrows indicate bearish reversals while green arrows indicate bullish reversals.

![BBY 10 Minute chart using the Reversal Cloud](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McMXnVRVWvc9IJBajjg%2F-McMYmvEU0vBGwcMNW15%2FmSBIv5Ti.png?alt=media\&token=1b4b0a9e-008d-4577-8ab9-22ff38986148)

The next photo shows how close the boundaries get during consolidation, which tends to result in a bullish or bearish breakout. You should never be trading when the boundaries are close, as it is always an indication of consolidation. If you are in a position and see that the boundaries are coming together closely, it would be wise to consider closing your position in order to avoid potential loss or getting trapped in consolidation.

The blue highlighted zone shows where the boundaries were close during consolidation, while the red arrow indicates where the bearish breakdown occurred.

# Auto Support & Resistance

Automatically Plot Accurate Support & Resistance Lines

The Auto Support & Resistance feature is an extremely useful tool for recognizing general levels that a stock price may have trouble breaking above or below. Support is typically recognized as a level where the price of a stock may cruise along or bounce off of in order to reach new heights. Resistance on the other hand is recognized as a level where a stock price has trouble breaking above, and may reject the level and bounce downwards. Identifying these levels is very important to all traders, as it can assist in locating entry and exits points, as well as doing proper technical analysis.

Red lines indicate resistance while green lines indicate support.

Below is an example of what these support & resistance lines look like when activated.

![TSLA 1 Minute chart using Auto Support & Resistance](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McMdF2TJtCsdKgeANrP%2F-McMfGB7_kSJeQGEPkkd%2FT3W2Tmrp.png?alt=media\&token=0655bba8-2816-4bc7-a355-6f6d9868afac)

## AUTO SUPPORT & RESISTANCE SETTINGS

Auto Support & Resistance settings can be customized through the Origami Algo settings menu. Here you can turn the lines on or off, choose whether they draw from the wick or body of the candles, and alter the sensitivity. Higher sensitivity leads to less lines, while lower sensitivity leads to more lines.

![Auto Support & Resistance Settings](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McMhxEF1Isa_rzMtC6R%2F-McMo_aJMjnc-c497Zvz%2FScreen%20Shot%202021-06-16%20at%2010.33.25%20PM.png?alt=media\&token=7e9f76fd-7dc2-4d3c-b13f-a51952b459e2)

# Auto Trendlines

Automatically Plot Accurate Trendlines

Trendlines are a very important part of technical analysis as they allow the trader to identify which direction the market is likely heading next. Auto Trendlines does this work for you, and allows you to customize the lines to your liking.

Red lines indicate bearish trends, while green lines indicate bullish trends.

Below is an example of what Auto Trendlines look like when activated.

![TSLA 15 Minute chart using Auto Trendlines](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McMp8LkUYOjZYoW43_9%2F-McMsrqoPz7CrNx2U3yW%2Fan2j4lTl.png?alt=media\&token=8d59b52b-61c2-4da2-a6c7-f58678f1bcb9)

## AUTO TRENDLINES SETTINGS

Auto Trendlines settings can be customized through the Origami Algo settings menu. Here you can turn the lines on or off, choose whether they draw from the wick or body of the candles, choose whether it shows the entire trendline history or not, alter the sensitivity, and alter the angle. Higher sensitivity leads to less lines, while lower sensitivity leads to more lines. Angle sensitivity alters bullish and bearish trendlines differently. A lower number makes bearish trendlines aim higher, while bullish trendlines aim lower. The opposite occurs when you make the angle sensitivity higher.

![Auto Trendlines Settings](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McMp8LkUYOjZYoW43_9%2F-McMv9BPStu8vMFRmLvX%2FScreen%20Shot%202021-06-16%20at%2011.03.18%20PM.png?alt=media\&token=424b00dd-9c90-4ba6-bee0-7a36df608821)

# Dashboard

Informational Dashboard

The Origami Algo Dashboard is filled with important information that enables any trader to understand the market on a deeper level in a concise manner. The current features our dashboard offers are as follows:

* Volatility %
* Volume
* RSI
* Current Sentiment
* Market Control
* Puts or Calls?
* Trend Panel (Experimental Feature)

![Origami Algo Dashboard](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McNU871m7NCwl8R2yC6%2F-McNU_6uMskVMPZJn647%2Funknown.png?alt=media\&token=bb4c5732-e7e8-4385-b20e-2cd8bd94b830)

These features will broken down in order, that way you can understand what each one does and how you can use it to benefit your trading.

## VOLATILITY %

Volatility typically is used to measure dispersion within the current security you are viewing. Our volatility is displayed as a percent that may range between 0% to 100% and can be seen on the dashboard. When volatility is high, it is usually an indicator that the security is riskier to invest in, as its potential to make large moves up or down is higher. When volatility is low, a security is seen as a safer investment because it is not expected to make large moves up or down. This is very important to take into account when making any trades. Volatility can be viewed on any chart including stocks, cryptocurrencies, index funds, and any other charts provided by TradingView.

## VOLUME

The volume provided by our dashboard is a reflection of the volume contained in the current bar. Volume can be used for many reasons, most importantly to confirm trends or to identify reversals. If a security is moving upwards with increasing volume, you can use this as confirmation that it is in a bullish trend. The same applies when the security is moving downwards with large volume, except in this case you would be seeing a bearish trend forming. As for identifying reversals, if a security is in a range (consolidation) but still has large volume, you can be ready for a likely break out to occur soon in either a bullish or bearish direction.

## RSI

The RSI integer displayed within our dashboard is based off the Relative Strength Index which is used to measure the magnitude of recent price movements along with identifying overbought and oversold zones on any chart. A security is thought to be oversold when it is below 30, and overbought when it is above 70. Oversold is typically thought to be a good entry level, while overbought usually means it is a good place to exit. This can be used as confirmation when you are considering entering or exiting a position.

## CURRENT SENTIMENT

The Origami Algo dashboard is capable of making an estimate on the current sentiment of any security regardless of the timeframe. It does this by taking in inputs from numerous inputs, and then deciding if the sentiment is bullish, bearish, or flat. Bullish sentiment means the security you are looking at is likely moving up, while bearish sentiment means it is moving down. A reading that says flat would indicate that the security is ranging and has not found a direction in which it wants to move yet. This aspect of our dashboard is very useful for deciding whether you should enter a long or short position.

The 3 possible readings from the Current Sentiment feature appear as follows:

Bullish 🟢\
Flat 😐\
Bearish 🔴

## MARKET CONTROL

Market Control is displayed on the dashboard and can give a reading that is either bullish or bearish along with a percent. The percent can range between 0% - 100% and allows you to understand how heavily bulls or bears control the current candle. If the candle is green, you will see a bullish reading with a % next to it rating its strength, while a red candle would give a bearish reading with a % next to it as well.

## PUTS OR CALLS?

Our Puts or Calls? feature was designed for options traders in order to give them a better idea of what type of position they should be in. Origami Algo takes in a few inputs from numerous indicators and then decides if it is safer to be in puts or calls on the current chart regardless of timeframe. This feature can be very beneficial to options traders who may be confused on the type of position they should be in, but please keep in mind that it is only an estimate.

## TREND PANEL (EXPERIMENTAL FEATURE)

The Trend Panel is an experimental feature that gives a reading on the markets current direction on the 1M, 5M, 15M, 30M, 1H, 2H, 4H, Weekly, Monthly, and Daily timeframes of any security all at once. A reading of 📈 indicates that this security is moving up on that timeframe, while a reading of 📉 means that the security is moving down on that timeframe. The reason this feature is experimental is because the functions used to create it do not always function properly. To get the most accurate reading, we recommend using the 1 Minute timeframe on the security you are viewing, and taking note of what the readings are. The 1 Minute timeframe will always give the most accurate reading, but due to the experimental nature of this feature, we do not recommend fully relying on it at all times.

## DASHBOARD SETTINGS

The Origami Algo Dashboard can be customized in a few ways. You can turn it on or off, change its color, change the text color, change its opacity, and choose how far away you want it to be from the current bar. These settings can be found at the bottom of the Origami Algo settings menu.

# WaveTrend

Identify Trends and Potential Entries / Exits

The WaveTrend Oscillator is a famous oscillator originally found in MT4. The version of WaveTrend that we have included in our oscillator is an improved version of what was found in MT4. We have added the ability for it to produce standard buy & sell signals, strong buy & sell signals, divergences, and numerous other improvements.

Below you will see a photo of Origami Oscillator with only the WaveTrend, signals, and divergences enabled.

![Improved WaveTrend Oscillator](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McO0rRTSLxrXkIbMGzr%2F-McO292aR5b4jh4QeYp7%2FWaveTrend.png?alt=media\&token=90dfcfc2-1005-4055-9fff-5c26c11a5ec7)

## BUY & SELL SIGNALS

Our version of the WaveTrend Oscillator has the potential to produce regular buy & sell signals as well as strong buy & sell signals. The regular signals are denoted by green and red dots, while the strong signals are denoted by green labels with a plus (+) sign and red labels with a minus (-) sign. While these signals are useful, you should mainly be following signals from Origami Algo itself, and occasionally using these for confirmation.

Below you will see numerous photos displaying each of these signals.

## DIVERGENCES

Divergences occur when the price of a security move opposite to an oscillator (in this case our Improved WaveTrend Oscillator) which can indicate a bullish or bearish movement that is to come. Many people use divergences as confirmation for taking trades, and some people trade strictly off divergences. In the case of our indicator, bullish divergences occur when you see a green line connecting two points, while bearish divergences occur when a red line connects two points.

Below you will see two photos displaying a bullish and bearish divergence.

# Trend Areas

Identify Short Term and Long Term Trends

The Trend Area feature is composed of a short trend and a long trend. The short trend allows you to capture smaller moves in the market, both bullish and bearish, while the long trend gives you a broader perspective as to what the overall direction is, regardless of the small moves. This can assist traders who like to scalp, and it can also assist traders in holding on to their positions by giving them more confidence in the overall direction the security is headed.

Below you will see photos displaying both of these trend areas.

# Price Momentum Baseline

Identify the Strength of Price Movement

The Origami Oscillator Price Momentum Baseline is based off the same math as our Price Momentum candle coloring option, and therefore will give you the same result. Price Momentum is an excellent way of tracking bullish and bearish momentum through candle movements.

Below is a picture of the Price Momentum Baseline

# Breakout Signals (EXPERIMENTAL)

Identify Bullish & Bearish Breakouts in Advance

Our Breakout Signals feature is an experimental yet useful feature that often times predicts massive breakouts before they occur. Due to the experimental nature of this feature, you should not rely on it 100% of the time, but you will find that by "confirming" the signal with other indicators, it becomes fairly accurate. A good thing to think about is whether the candlesticks are consolidating at the time of the alert, and what the short / long trends on the oscillator are displaying. The breakout / breakdown signals tend to work best when the market is in a state of consolidation, and when the other indicators act as proper confirmation.

Below you will see two examples displaying a successful breakout and breakdown signal.

![AAPL 1 Minute chart displaying a Bullish Breakout Signal](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5X4DCXYY5I0Vg-DYV%2F-Md5dyieNJJdPkh8dU1m%2FdOaF3Woz.png?alt=media\&token=4e784d48-929a-410d-930a-48de63779673)

This AAPL chart was a safe play for a few reasons, the first being that the short trend was relatively strong and bullish. On top of this, we see that the market had just taken a dip, but recovered after the strong buy signal went off. This led to a short period of consolidation where the breakout signal went off and successfully lead to a large breakout.

![BTCUSD 15 Minute chart displaying a Bearish Breakdown Signal](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5X4DCXYY5I0Vg-DYV%2F-Md5dyifHf0TxV3MMb_d%2FYnawLb76.png?alt=media\&token=b853053f-cf02-47e1-8fa2-8662db4c6fe0)

This BTCUSD chart was also a safe play, for essentially the same reasons as the last chart. We see that the last signal prior to the breakdown signal was a standard oscillator sell signal. We also see that the short trend was in a relatively strong bearish state, and it remained there for a few candles before the breakdown really began. There was also consolidation occurring when the signal went off, which is always a good sign.

You can turn the signals on or off, and also choose to show only Bullish or Bearish signals within the Origami Oscillator settings menu.

![Breakout Signal Settings](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Md5X4DCXYY5I0Vg-DYV%2F-Md5dyigFNirZ9BDJ1q0%2FBreakout%20Signal%20Settings.png?alt=media\&token=8ab9746c-2d94-4d6f-8e29-f41a5744700b)

# Dashboard

Informational Dashboard

The Origami Oscillator Dashboard is filled with important information that enables any trader to understand the market on a deeper level in a concise manner. The current features our dashboard offers are as follows:

* Last Signal
* Market State
* Trend Strength
* Short Trend Direction
* Long Trend Direction
* Last Divergence Type & Bar Count

![Origami Oscillator Dashboard](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McOJprZcZpit8Zz075n%2F-McOKtz3gYc9m6Ne9JlV%2FOrigami%20Oscillator%20Dashboard.png?alt=media\&token=817d6b91-dbf6-42d6-9718-f414d53d5a37)

These features will broken down in order, that way you can understand what each one does and how you can use it to benefit your trading.

## LAST SIGNAL

Not much to say here, the last signal posted on the top right indicates the last signal produced by the oscillator, if it is a regular buy or strong buy it will display Buy 📈 and if it is a sell it will display Sell 📉

## MARKET STATE

The Market State aspect of the Origami Oscillator dashboard is based off the direction of the WaveTrend. If the WaveTrend is in an uptrend, it will display Increasing 📈 and if it is in a downtrend it will display Decreasing 📉.

## TREND STRENGTH

The Trend Strength has 3 possible readings, Weak, Strong, and Extreme. These readings apply to both bullish and bearish trends. You should likely stay away from entering positions when the dashboard has a Weak reading, as the trend likely won't last, and there will not be much profit to be made, if any at all, by trading during the current trend.

## SHORT TREND AND LONG TREND

The Short Trend and Long Trend readings are based off the Trend Areas covered previously in this documentation. The two possible readings are Bullish 🟢 and Bearish 🔴 depending on the individual directions of the Short Trend and Long Trend. This is useful in case you want to turn both of those off visually, but still be able to get the readings from the dashboard.

## DIVERGENCE

The Divergence reading on the dashboard is based off the last divergence that occurred on whatever chart you are viewing. It also has a bar count so you know how far back the last divergence occurred. The two possible readings are Bullish 🟢 and Bearish 🔴 depending on what type of divergence last occurred.

## DASHBOARD SETTINGS

The Origami Oscillator Dashboard can be customized in a few ways. You can turn it on or off, change its color, change the text color, change its opacity, and choose how far away you want it to be from the current bar. These settings can be found at the bottom of the Origami Oscillator settings menu.

![Origami Oscillator Dashboard Settings](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-McONjEsJiSCxgwribpE%2F-McOOVKS3oUM_CIbMLDb%2FOrigami%20Oscillator%20Dashboard%20Settings.png?alt=media\&token=78d1c786-16d1-44e9-b72e-42755c3413a3)

# How to Set Alerts

Never miss out on another potential trade!

Setting alerts on TradingView is essential to any trader who wants to monitor different parameters occurring across any market and timeframe. Currently, we offer buy & sell alerts for all 3 types of signals that come with Origami Algo, and we also offer multiple alert types for Origami Oscillator.

To begin setting an alert, you will want to click the "Alert" button located at the top menu bar on any chart

![Alert Button](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhgp2vRL8ebvtRfmHMU%2F-Mhv-giycwD4601lp2Jt%2FAlert%20Button.png?alt=media\&token=ff31d840-aad9-4f70-8375-0a48dd4c102d)

Pressing this will bring you to the Alert Menu which allows you to customize many settings such as the condition, the frequency of the alert, the expiration time, where you are alerted, and even the name and message that appear with the alert.

![Alert Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhgp2vRL8ebvtRfmHMU%2F-Mhv02P0V5cRVgmFzzVv%2FAlert%20Menu.png?alt=media\&token=da44b8e0-c070-41ab-85d8-688f90c4aef2)

From here you will want to click on the very first button (in this case it says BTCUSD because that is the chart we were viewing while making this guide) and select which of our two indicators you want to use for alerts. Clicking the first button will open the dropdown menu pictured below.

![Condition Dropdown Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhgp2vRL8ebvtRfmHMU%2F-Mhv0M-gnxulPPEHrmPY%2FAlert%20Dropdown.png?alt=media\&token=102cac0a-fbd2-4ee3-9c25-fbf849706c47)

{% hint style="info" %}
**MAKE SURE THE INDICATOR YOU WANT TO USE FOR ALERTS IS ACTIVE ON THE CHART OR YOU WILL NOT SEE THEM IN THE CONDITION DROPDOWN MENU!**
{% endhint %}

Once you have done this, you may notice that the Alert Menu has changed slightly. We used Origami Algo for this example, but regardless, the conditions below your main condition will now reflect the indicator you have selected. You may also notice that there are now 4 options to choose from when picking out the frequency of your alert.

![Origami Algo Alert Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhgp2vRL8ebvtRfmHMU%2F-Mhv18E6kjJN3zMxeP2Y%2FNew%20Alert%20Menu.png?alt=media\&token=b29dfb85-e122-44f1-a710-cfe077276102)

Now you will want to pick from the second menu and decide which conditions you want to select alerts for. Below you will see all the conditions offered by Origami Algo & Origami Oscillator. You can choose any of these conditions, and even set alerts for multiple different ones. Alerts can only be set one at a time.

![Origami Algo Conditions Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhgp2vRL8ebvtRfmHMU%2F-Mhv1b_OXkMuEN5IRBG4%2FAlert%20Conditions%20Dropdown.png?alt=media\&token=c4eae5c2-011a-4056-a6c9-7599e73a5017)

![Origami Oscillator Conditions Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhv1ffVcnDAy-RuS3rA%2F-Mhv1xLwUIcDeQkT8F10%2FOrigami%20Oscillator%20Condition%20Menu.png?alt=media\&token=ffd0d956-e740-4311-bb3f-c33d7441d7c7)

Next you will select the alert frequency from the "Options" section. Each alert frequency option means something different. We recommend choosing Once Per Bar Close to avoid potentially incorrect alerts being fired.

**Only Once** - The alert will only trigger once and will not be repeated\
**Once Per Bar** - The alert will trigger every time the condition is met, but not more than 1 time per bar\
**Once Per Bar Close** - The alert will trigger every time the condition is met at bar close\
**Once Per Minute** - The alert will trigger every time the condition is met, but not more than 1 time per minute

![Alert Frequency Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhv1ffVcnDAy-RuS3rA%2F-Mhv2mZSzw2usjSaQuvO%2FAlert%20Options%20Types.png?alt=media\&token=4f26f1c3-e70c-43ef-ad4b-d485709f1f09)

The second to last part of setting an alert is choosing its expiration time as well as where you want the alert to popup. Open-ended alerts will continue alerting forever each time the condition is met, while alerts with an expiration date will stop once the expiration date & time have passed.

As for the "Alert Actions" section, this is up to you depending on how you want to receive your alerts. You may choose to be notified through the mobile app, desktop pop-up notifications, emails, webhooks, and even SMS. You can even set a sound to play if you'd like!

![Alert Expiration / Actions Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhv1ffVcnDAy-RuS3rA%2F-Mhv51d965DHUcrPKGK0%2FAlert%20Expiration%20%26%20Actions.png?alt=media\&token=31ae0ec9-e6f5-4cc5-97d0-3cf42f71e5ad)

The absolute last step is choosing an alert name and message to print every time an alert fires. We left the alert name blank, but coded in a custom message for each of the alerts. It is best to leave the alert messages default unless you really want to change it.

![Alert Name / Message Menu](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhv1ffVcnDAy-RuS3rA%2F-Mhv4qLh8MsDAFzhoOYD%2FAlert%20Name.png?alt=media\&token=9aa668a5-4832-453c-a725-0415d7c82f7e)

Once you are done, just click create and you're done! If you'd like to view any alerts you've created, you can click the button picture below which is located towards the top right of your side bar on any chart.

![Alert Sidebar Button](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-Mhv59ZJpA476aLNgrRV%2F-Mhv6z_5hl4UuqH4hrFr%2FAlert%20Side%20Button.png?alt=media\&token=ef59b5b4-e958-4587-8a1e-0428f5094aa9)

Signals in the side bar can be paused temporarily, edited, or even deleted by clicking the corresponding buttons that appear when you hover over each alert.

# High / Low Lines

Learn how to find key levels to trade off while using our indicators as confirmation.

## IDENTIFYING KEY LEVELS

Understanding key levels and "zones" within the market and learning how to use them to your advantage is an essential skill for any trader. In this section, we will show you an example using LUNAUSDT as our chart, and after we show how you can identify key levels, we will show you how to trade with this using our indicators.

![LUNAUSDT 1 Hour Chart](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-MihPNryys4iLqe_wnAr%2F-MihZfkEFQhcr6RLVpHi%2FLUNAUSDT_2021-09-03_17-30-59.png?alt=media\&token=2b1a5147-29fd-46de-920f-e530de126240)

Here we see a standard 1 hour chart, with no indicators or drawings on it. Little do we know, key levels are hiding on this chart, and can be easily found by drawing horizontal lines on past reversal points as well as tops and bottoms. All you need to do is find these points, and draw from the top and bottom of the candle body.

![LUNAUSDT 1 Hour Chart with Key Levels Drawn](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-MihPNryys4iLqe_wnAr%2F-MihazKb0a2RI5CIMQJt%2FLUNAUSDT_2021-09-03_17-41-14.png?alt=media\&token=aab5b53f-1c83-427e-a291-a25a110e0aaa)

Now we have a few key levels that we can trade off. If a line is BELOW the price action, it becomes a potential support line, while if it is ABOVE the price action, it becomes a potential resistance line. We suggest drawing these lines on a higher time frame than the one you trade off of. In this example, we drew the lines on the 1 hour chart, but we will now be moving down to the 5 minute chart to trade.

## TRADING WITH THESE LEVELS

The absolute safest way to trade with these new levels is to wait for a candle to break above or below one of our lines and then completely close. This usually signifies that the trend will continue, and as you can see below, if you entered a proper position on each of these moves, you would have been able to turn all of them into profitable plays.

![LUNAUSDT 5 Minute Chart with Key Levels Drawn + Breakouts / Breakdowns Identified](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-MihPNryys4iLqe_wnAr%2F-MihheH916vcJZ4JP3Pa%2FSolely%20Lines.png?alt=media\&token=95f3c300-9af7-400a-a4cb-c837e1750f9f)

{% hint style="info" %}
Remember to **ONLY** enter a position if the candle has passed a line and completely closed above / below it. You must also remember to **NEVER** trade when the price action is in between two lines that you drew from 1 candle.
{% endhint %}

## BRINGING IN ORIGAMI INDICATORS

Now we will show you the true power of using our indicators in combination with this strategy. Our indicators will allow you to get much better entry points, while still feeling comfortable with your trading decisions. In the photo below, you will see the same chart as the one above, but this time both Origami Indicators will be on the chart. Taking a look at the image will show you all the extra entry points that you could have used by taking advantage of our tools.

![LUNAUSDT 5 Minute Chart with Key Levels Drawn + All Potential Entries Identified](https://1209696252-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-M_vsjzrVsU7-mX0Ggeh%2F-MihPNryys4iLqe_wnAr%2F-Mihiwd4uOYvfECl2ssZ%2FGetting%20in%20Earlier.png?alt=media\&token=f6815164-263d-43be-b9cd-dcd4253049ba)

As you can see, this is a very flexible strategy that can be applied across any time frames and markets. Our indicators try to make entry points as obvious as possible and we hope this strategy has given you a better idea of how using our tools can boost your overall understanding of any market.
